Name: Dan Piazza
Role: Lead Pastor What's your favorite TV show? Monk, (Psych is a close second). What's your favorite drink? Black coffee, preferably from Tim Hortons :) What's an unusual hobby you have? Reading U.S. Presidential biographies. Team of Rivals (by Doris Kearns Goodwin) is my absolute favorite. Who has influenced your preaching the most? Tim Keller from Redeemer Presbyterian influences me the most by far. I appreciate his crisp, clear, and scholarly approach as well as his way of presenting the truth of God's Word without compromise, but also without unnecessary insult. What's the best part of doing ministry at Niagara Alliance Church? The friendships that I have developed through working closely with our talented and forward thinking leadership team. |
Name: Steph Geschwender
Role: Church Administrator What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning? I make a cup of tea, most people need coffee to wake up in the morning I need a cup of Irish Breakfast or English Breakfast tea. If you see me with a Tim Horton's cup it’s not coffee, it’s almost always tea. What is your favorite movie or TV show? For as much fiction as I read I don’t really watch all that much, I can watch reruns of Criminal Minds until I’m almost quoting episodes. But for the most part it’s a documentary of some kind, What on Earth?, Mysteries of the Abandoned, Unearthed, Unexplained and Unexplored or similar shows. What is one of your hobbies that might surprise us? It’s probably no surprise to anyone that I read all the time. I can usually be found with a book in hand or reading on some kind of device, I never leave home without reading material. I even started listening to audio books a couple of years ago so now nothing stops me from making reading progress. What fictional character's death did you mourn the most? Every. Single. One. I tend to get overly attached to a random side character that has maybe 3 lines in the whole narrative, but they are my favorite, and they are probably dead. Sometimes it's a main character, sometimes it's the villain, but there's a common thread through a good chunk of my favorite characters and it's that I most definitely cried when they died. What’s the best part about doing ministry at Niagara Alliance? The people I get to work with. I love walking into church on Sunday mornings it’s like a family reunion every week. |
